What's the colour of your sky?

Just imagine a world free of labels, free of definitions we have given it. Wouldn’t that be a beautiful world to live in? A world where your inner creativity sparks more than stars. A world where your mind is free to think, free to speak, free to give opinions on what matters to you. A world where your heart is free without any judgements.
When I first heard about the film or even watched the trailer I couldn’t help but think why was the sky pink. Yes, we might have seen many pink and beautiful skies in lockdown but still aren’t skies “supposed” to be blue, black or maybe orange.
That’s exactly where I was so wrong! It was not meant to be my sky anyways, it was supposed to be Ishaan’s (Giraffe’s) sky. The same sky that created a connection between him and his mother. The same sky that reminded him of his sister. That made me wonder, that’s probably why Aditi (Moose) never corrected him, because she wanted him to be able to think and imagine whatever he wanted. She wanted to allow him to think out of the box, give a chance to his growing imaginations. She wanted him to create his own unique lens to perceive the world. It seems quite similar to my blog page, my lens into the world, ideas, concepts and simply life.
This movie was both heartbreaking and wholesome, but the thing I connected to most was the barrier to our creativity, the limits which are stopping us from thinking whatever we want. The barrier of creativity is not just limited by a school syllabus, or the practicality of an idea. But, it is limited by our mindsets and our reluctant acceptance, not just as a creative or imaginative thinker but, as a society. Practicality does not suggest limitation of ideas, because most innovations are developed by creative thinkers with initially impractical ideas. It just that, society has created endless norms of what is regarded right or wrong, but these words in itself are so subjective.
We have bound ourselves to what is acceptable and what is not, that’s where the divide between “traditional” art and maybe modern or abstract art comes in. We have bound ourselves by thinking a certain type of art is art itself, then how do we accept others? We have bound ourselves to black and white, missing out on all the grey. We have conditioned ourselves to think in binaries. But, what we don't understand is the connection of these binaries through a middle ground. We don’t need to understand or like everything. This is simply why I appreciate art so much. It is simply built around creating connections; for yourself or with an audience just by one common thread to their unique experiences.
Why limit ourselves, our minds, and our imagination when there is so much to explore, and so much more to learn.
