We don't usually sit down and get lost in deep thought, of our lives, our days and journeys. It's usually quite the opposite, as we are busy avoiding the process of thinking or even reflecting so that we can feel fine. But, there are those days when all we need is a few minutes of solitude when nothing but our thoughts matters. For me, many such minutes are supported by a song, Kun Faya Kun. This song is shared by so many people, yet it stands out. It's given fame yet it's kept safe. For me, it is the necessity to understand and process life. The melodious tunes are not the end of it. It is a warm hug that I need when nothing else can fill the emptiness. It almost feels like this song understands the unspoken, listens to the unheard. I've listened to this song in binaries; with eyes full of tears, hopelessness and eyes filled with joy and tranquility. This song has given me light, faith and depth. It has given me an understanding of my scale. Its universal language transcends any religious boundaries and connects directly with my heart and soul. This is my door to life and something beyond the facade that we all use to mask our inner sorrows. All my worries are pulled into its vast depth, disappearing from sight. All my fears wrap around me like feathers and I feel free from my preoccupation, slowly flying. It takes me to a different galaxy, without being an escape but a glass into my world. It gives me credence to walk again, when I'm lost in my insecurities. It holds me when I'm fragile. So, I know I'm safe when I hear this song.
