Zindagi Na Milegi Dobabra is one of my all-time favorite movies because of the feel-good factor, because of the cinematography, because of the many lessons it’s taught me, because of the beautiful dialogues, and because of its immense impact on me.
I usually don’t read poetry, but this poem in the movie is overwhelmingly wonderful and beautiful. It connects at a deeper level, one which I don’t seem to understand yet. But, it brings a sigh of relief in the biggest of storms.
This poem describes indescribable feelings of pain, hurt, and suffering perfectly. It feels like the emotions have been put into words bringing this sense of calm that I’ve never felt before.
This poem helps me understand the pain and accept it the way it is; a simple yet complex part of my life. This small part which I enlarged and one which I cried over for days, but is now huge learning and a milestone to remember.
This poem made me realize that feeling pain is inevitable, but so is the feeling of happiness, warmth, and joy. Sometimes you don’t know why you are crying, why you are remembering all those moments? The rush of feelings at that time is inexplicable.
This poem is snow-filled with warmth, pain outcompeted with tranquility and an inexplicable feeling explained.

Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya
Jab ghum ka saya lehraya
Jab aansoo palkon tak aya
Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya
…Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai
Yeh jo gehre sannate hain
Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain
Thoda ghum hai sabka qissa
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa
Aankh teri bekaar hi nam hai
Har pal ek naya mausam hai
Kyun tu aise pal khota hai
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
~ Poem from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Beautiful...love the name .. looking glass...keep up the good work!
This is so lovely, Mabel! Indeed the poetry in the movie is something that I like about the movie; I also love the timing of these poems..one was after the scuba diving experience and I remember I got the same feelings after my scuba experience for the first time!
Keep writing!
